Cancellation & Return/Refund policy

At Astro Mechanics, we prioritize customer satisfaction and transparency while ensuring our policies protect both the company and its customers. By placing an order, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined below.

Cancellation Policy

General Conditions:

​

  1. Order Cancellations: Cancellations will be accepted only if requested within 24 hours of placing the order.

  2. Fragile Items (Optics, Lenses, etc.):

    • Cancellation requests for fragile items will not be accepted.

    • Astro Mechanics is not responsible for damage to fragile items during transportation. Customers must ensure proper handling after delivery.

 

Unboxing Video Requirement

​

To ensure transparency and resolve claims efficiently, customers must adhere to the following:

  1. Record an HD unboxing video at the time of delivery or collection before opening the package.

    • The video must display the package from all sides without edits, cuts, or interruptions.

    • The video should confirm the presence of all items, including smaller components or boxes within the main packaging.

  2. The unboxing video must be recorded and submitted within 24 hours of delivery.

  3. For claims related to non-receipt or damaged products, the unboxing video is mandatory. Without it, Astro Mechanics reserves the right to reject claims.

 

Reporting Damages:

​

  • Any damaged or defective product must be reported to our Customer Service Team within 24 hours of delivery.

  • Claims will be verified, and further action will be initiated based on the assessment.

 

Refund Policy

​

  1. Refund Eligibility:

    • Refunds, if approved, will be processed within 10-15 business days.

    • Refunds will be credited to the customer’s original payment method.

  2. No Refunds or Exchanges:

    • No refunds or exchanges will be provided once the product is delivered.

 

Note: Orders placed by Government, Semi-Government, or Private Institutes against their purchase orders will not alter these policies. Terms or conditions stated in such purchase orders will not be binding on Astro Mechanics.

 

Warranty Policy

​

We highly recommend availing the free product demonstration at the time of delivery. This helps customers understand the correct usage and maintenance, prevent physical damage, and avoid voiding the warranty due to mishandling.

 

Optical Components:

​

  1. Astro Mechanics provides a 5-year warranty on all optical components.

  2. Exclusions:

    • Physical damage or mishandling.

    • Annual maintenance or cleaning.

    • Normal 2-3% deterioration of optical coatings over time.

    • Improper storage in unsuitable conditions, such as high humidity.

 

Telescopes and GO-TO Systems:

​

  1. Manufacturer Warranty:

    • All telescopes come with a warranty provided by the primary manufacturer.

    • Astro Mechanics, as an official importer and trader, does not provide direct warranty services for telescopes, particularly for electronics-driven or sophisticated GO-TO system telescopes.

  2. Repair Services:

    • If repair is required, customers must:

      • Bring the product to our workshop with the purchase invoice.

      • Bear all associated shipping costs (to and from our workshop/manufacturer).

      • Ensure the product is adequately insured during transit.

      • Cover any customs duties incurred during international shipping.

  3. Repair Limitations:

    • GO-TO system telescopes may not be repairable in India. If repairs cannot be performed locally, the product must be sent to the manufacturer’s authorized repair center abroad.

    • Astro Mechanics is not responsible for international return shipping costs, customs fees, or transit delays.

 

General Warranty Conditions:

​

  1. The warranty becomes void if the product has been:

    • Physically damaged, abused, or mishandled.

    • Modified in design, function, or components.

    • Subjected to unauthorized repairs or alterations.

    • Affected by normal wear and tear, improper use, or factors beyond our control.

    • If our branding on the product is removed or tampered with in any way.

  2. The warranty does not apply to used/refurbished products.

 

Free Service Policy

​

  1. Customers are entitled to one free service as part of our commitment to quality.

  2. Conditions:

    • If any parts require replacement during the free service, the cost of parts will be charged.

    • Service is available only at our workshop. No doorstep service will be provided.

 

Product Design and Specifications

​

  1. Design Alterations:

    • All product specifications, designs, photos, and details provided on our website, catalog, or promotional materials are approximate and subject to change.

    • Astro Mechanics reserves the right to amend, alter, or withdraw any specifications or designs to incorporate improvements as per the latest technologies.

  2. Non-Binding Details:

    • Any descriptions or representations made on our website or promotional materials shall not be considered binding.

 

Liability Disclaimer

 

Astro Mechanics shall not be held responsible for:

  1. Damages resulting from improper product usage, handling, or unauthorized modifications.

  2. Losses or claims arising due to unfulfilled warranty conditions (e.g., lack of an unboxing video, delayed reporting).

  3. Shipping damages, unless explicitly proven to be caused by Astro Mechanics.

  4. Delays or issues caused by third-party logistics, customs, or international transit.

 

Acceptance of Terms

By placing an order with Astro Mechanics or its affiliate platforms, the Buyer:

  1. Accepts all the general terms and conditions outlined herein.

  2. Acknowledges that these terms override any conditions stated in purchase orders from Government, Semi-Government, or Private Institutions.

  3. Agrees to periodic updates to these terms as made by Astro Mechanics.
